BOOK CLUB
It’s been an interesting couple of weeks! I know everyone is experiencing this season differently. Some of us find ourselves worrying about the health risks of Covid-19. Others of us are worried about the impact to our jobs and feel disappointed by cancelled plans. And some of us are enjoying the respite – the chance to slow down and spend extra time with our families. No matter how you are experiencing these unique circumstances, your situation matters, your feelings are valid, and we are all in this together! This is an opportunity to carry one another’s burdens…even burdens that look and feel different from our own.
There’s a lot that feels out of control in our world right now. My training as a restoration therapist has taught me that there are three truths we can claim to find security in an unsafe world.
First, while we do not have total control, we know God does and we are not completely powerless. We are empowered to make choices. I find one of the most important choices I make on a daily (hourly!) basis is choosing to claim the truth in uncertainty.
Second, we might be social distancing, but we are not alone. We have relationships here on earth and we have the comfort of the Holy Spirit always.
Finally, while the circumstances are not good, there is growth and goodness to be found in the wake of what has been lost and broken.
I want to walk this season alongside you and engage these three truths with you from the comfort of our own homes! Starting next Tuesday, March 31st, I will be hosting a four-week online book club with From Lost to Found. You can download the study guide below and I will be on Instagram Live each Tuesday at 8 pm EDT. Let’s take this opportunity to connect with each other and discover what God has for us in the wake of what has been lost and broken. Because the bad news of today is no match for the Good News we have in Jesus!
And here’s the fun part…because I want to get this message into as many hands and hearts as possible, I am running a major FLASH SALE on my books: one book for $7.00 or two books for $12.00! The sale will run for one week.
If you don’t yet have a copy or want to purchase gifts for loved ones, now is the time! Invite your friends and I’ll see you next Tuesday!
